One Mum’s Mission to Make Mealtimes Safer for Our Kids

Hi, I’m Kayla — mum of three, lover of clean design, and the founder of Meadow Lane (formerly Nibble & Spoon)

Like so many parents, I just wanted dinnerware that was safe, easy to use, and actually worked. But what I got? Bowls that didn’t suction, plates that absorbed smells, and materials that broke, stained, or — worst of all — leached toxins into my kids’ food.

The turning point…

One night, my daughter refused her dinner for no reason. My husband and I leaned in for a sniff, and we were shocked. Her bowl — one we’d used a hundred times — reeked of dishwashing detergent. That smell had soaked into the silicone and then into her meal. I felt sick. I threw it out on the spot.

That night, I ditched all of our bowls, plates, and sippy cups. But when I looked for safer alternatives — I couldn’t find any that truly checked all the boxes:

It felt like everything out there was made with unknown chemicals, cheap silicone, or microplastic-filled coatings — and so many parents just didn’t know what they were using.

So I created the thing I couldn’t find.

Meadow Lane was born out of frustration — and out of love. I wanted to create baby and toddler tableware that gave families peace of mind. Products made from food-grade stainless steel and LFGB-certified silicone, designed to last, and beautiful enough to feel proud of on your kitchen bench.
