Why I Created Meadow Lane Collective

One Mum’s Mission to Make Mealtimes Safer for Our Kids

Hi, I’m Kayla!
Mum of three, lover of clean design, and the founder of Meadow Lane Collective

Like so many parents, I just wanted dinnerware that was safe, easy to use, and actually worked. But what I got? Bowls that didn’t suction, plates that absorbed smells, and materials that broke, stained, or worst of all, leached toxins into my kids’ food.

The turning point…

One night, my daughter refused her dinner for no reason. My husband and I leaned in for a sniff, and we were shocked. Her bowl — one we’d used a hundred times — reeked of dishwashing detergent. That smell had soaked into the silicone and then into her meal. I felt sick. I threw it out on the spot.

That night, I ditched all of our bowls, plates, and sippy cups. But when I looked for safer alternatives — I couldn’t find any that truly checked all the boxes:
Toxin-free, Non-absorbent, Actually stuck to the table, Durable, beautiful, and built to grow with our kids.

It felt like everything out there was made with unknown chemicals, cheap silicone, or microplastic-filled coatings, and so many parents just didn’t know what they were using.

So I created the thing I couldn’t find.

Meadow Lane Collective was born out of frustration and out of love. I wanted to create baby and toddler tableware that gave families peace of mind. Products made from food-grade stainless steel and LFGB-certified silicone, designed to last, and beautiful enough to feel proud of on your kitchen bench.

And turns out, they’re great for neurodivergent children too!

This isn’t just a brand. It’s a mission, for all the families who care deeply about what their babies eat and what they eat off.

Whether you’re just starting solids or navigating picky toddlers, I want to help make your mealtimes simpler, safer, and more joyful.

Thanks for being here,
Kayla x
